Wæm Khǐg-vǐw (/xɪg/ /vɪw/ [dump] [fountain]) is a subtropical Town located in Ikhoha Parish, Wækwìilbu District, within the Federation of Alveria.

The name Wæm Khǐg-vǐw is derived from the Constructi language, as Wæm Khǐg-vǐw was founded by Coconut Crabs Tshêyêbm, who was culturaly Constructi.

Climate

Wæm Khǐg-vǐw has a yearly average temperature of 29°C (84°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a blistering 34°C (93°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a pleasant 25°C (77°F). Wæm Khǐg-vǐw receives an average of 211 cm/y (83 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the fall. Wæm Khǐg-vǐw covers an area of nearly 5 km2 (2 mi2), and an average elevation of 12688 m (-1322 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Wæm Khǐg-vǐw was founded durring the early 11th century, by Coconut Crabs Tshêyêbm. The establishment of the new community went well, with no major obsticles durring construction.

Wæm Khǐg-vǐw was built using the conventions of Constructi durring the early 11th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Wæm Khǐg-vǐw is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.

Wæm Khǐg-vǐw is buildings are arranged arround a network of restrictive canals streets which form a grid, where each square verries in size given the proximity of the paralell streets forming each section. The ocasional smaller square has been used to construct a park, plaza, and other communal structures. The town is protected by a renforced stone fence which sits atop earthwork defences, for some of the best inexpencive defences a town of Wæm Khǐg-vǐw's size could have. The town's well-designed, yet cheep are visibly old, but also obviously maintained semi-regularly. Its likly the local malishia or garrison are tasked with ocasional mantance of the towns defences.

Wæm Khǐg-vǐw has the unmistakable air of a town on its last legs. Everything is a bit slipshod and ramshackle. Everyone is at work, or drinking. No one has anything in their eyes other than fear and despair. Whatever industry once fueled Wæm Khǐg-vǐw ’s existence has dried up and the town is drifting down the stream of history as it dries up.

Civic Infrastructure

Wæm Khǐg-vǐw has an Office of Civil Groundskeeping, which works to enforce local ordinances relating to the construction and upkeep up of all plant life, water features, and other natural decorations within Wæm Khǐg-vǐw. They are also responsible for the maintenance of these features. Notably, the OCG is not responsible for Wæm Khǐg-vǐw's parks.

Wæm Khǐg-vǐw has an Office of Civil Vicary, which is responsible for providing a livelyhood for all officialy recognised religious figures within Wæm Khǐg-vǐw.

Wæm Khǐg-vǐw has a monistary of an order of Civil Monks, who provide divine-related services to the general public and maintain Wæm Khǐg-vǐw's public wards, blessings, and other arcane systems.

Wæm Khǐg-vǐw possesses a Galvanic Power Grid, which brings galvanic current to most if not all buildings in town, and permits a great many consumer goods to function within the Town. Wæm Khǐg-vǐw's grid is powered by a god's will and kindness.

Wæm Khǐg-vǐw has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands. They are not to be confused with the Office of Civil Groundskeeping as they do not hold authority over nor responsibility for Wæm Khǐg-vǐw's natural decorations nor waterways.

Wæm Khǐg-vǐw has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

Wæm Khǐg-vǐw has a public septic system, which allows its citizens to have indoor bathrooms. The septic system is overseen by the League of Sewerkeepers, who posses the legal authority to enforce all laws relating to the septic system, and are also tasked with its maintenance and upkeep.

Cultural Notes

Wæm Khǐg-vǐw is led by one or more incompetents. While they must have been very good at something to have acquired the position, they are fundamentally incapable of leading. Uncontrolled passions or lusts, commitment to a hopelessly impractical ideal, pigheaded obstinacy in the face of failure, a total lack of charisma or interpersonal skills, or profound laziness might all unfit them for their post.

Wæm Khǐg-vǐw's chapel was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is famous for its stately symmetry, classical elements, and grand appearance. Columns and pillars, such as Corinthian columns, are often seen supporting open structures or porticos. Symmetry is an important feature of this style, with each half of a building mirroring the other. Domed ceilings and windows grace these buildings, with everything placed in a mathematical arrangement.

In Wæm Khǐg-vǐw sometimes, near one of the seasonal solstices, the sun appears to split into three and it rains from a clear sky for several hours.

The Bonewrought Willow near Wæm Khǐg-vǐw are known to be almost tame, such that they can be put to domestic use.

Wæm Khǐg-vǐw's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in winter and involves square dance to channel Invocation energies of tier 2 via moments of science.
